BIOSKETCH
Dr Pillay’s journey in Nuclear Medicine started in 2010 as a registrar in Nuclear Medicine at the University of Stellenbosch. He brought into the field a wealth of experience in general medicine after having worked in the King Edward Hospital MOPD for a period of five years and also excelling to lead the department as Acting CMO. He joined the Forensic Pathology Department thereafter and when he noticed the need for Nuclear Medicine Physicians in Kwa-Zulu Natal, he was encouraged to specialise in the field so that he may return to and serve this community. He is a dedicated teacher and scholar, and is determined to ensure that his academic development is paralleled by his excellent service to the people of KZN.
